308 Stainless is the most commonly used stainless MIG wire, and is best used for general purpose stainless.
308 is a stainless steel alloy that is primarily composed of 18-20% chromium and 8-10.5% nickel. It is often used for welding austenitic stainless steel, such as type 304. It is also used for welding dissimilar metals, such as steel to stainless steel.
