This is often viewed as the textbook correct tungsten electrode for stainless and mild steel, especially if on an older transformer based machine. We do not recommend using this electrode unless you have a self contained tungsten grinder, as the dust from sharpening is slightly radioactive.

2% Thoriated (EWTh-2) alloy increases electrode life. Higher electron emissions result in better arc starting and arc stability. Maintains a sharp point. Resistance to tungsten contamination of the weld. Radioactive. 

Electrodes are 7" (175mm) in length and packaged 10 rods per box. All tungstens have colour coded tips for easy identification, and meet AWSA5.12 specifications. Electrodes are supplied with a smooth, round, bright centerless ground finish.
