CK Worldwide Multi-Purpose Tungsten

This is the highest quality multi-purpose tungsten available. Originally designed for robotic applications, this tungsten will have a stable arc on every alloy out there. If you want to own just one tungsten, this is it.

Non-Radioactive. Best for automated or robotic applications in Alternating Current (A/C) or Direct Current (D/C) due to low voltage tolerance (changes in tip to work piece distance) using inverter or transformer based constant current power sources. Good for low-alloyed steels, non corroding steels, aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, titanium alloys, nickel alloys, copper alloys. Very stable tip geometry, runs cooler than 2% Thoriated with longer life, low to medium amperage range. Very best low amperage starts.

Features:

  • Principal Oxides: 1.5% Lanthanum, 0.08% Yttrium Oxides, 0.08% Zirconium
  • Non-Radioactive
  • Very stable tip geometry, runs cooler than 2% Thoriated and lasts longer
  • Offers the very best low amperage starts
  • Often used for automated or robotic applications due to low voltage tolerance (changes in tip to work piece distance)

Available diameters:

  • 0.020" (0.5 mm)
  • 0.040" (1 mm)
  • 1/16" (1.6 mm)
  • 3/32" (2.4 mm)
  • 1/8" (3.2 mm)

Running a shop that has a very wide range of welding requirements for ferrous and non ferrous metals requires a very robust tungsten that can switch from AC to DC and back again with high and low amperage and have great longevity LAyZr electrodes from CK are my first choice.

Amateur Review

Second time running TIG, first time was over 10 years ago. Don’t have a lot to compare to at this time but so far I have no complaints.
