ER5356 is a 5% Magnesium aluminum alloy filler metal that is one of the most widely used aluminum welding alloys for fabrication and general repairs. 5356 is Harder and more brittle than 4043. 

Features:

• Primarily alloyed with magnesium and silicon
• Very high strength
• Incredible corrosion resistance
• Even in salty marine environments
• Commonly used for welding heat treatable alloys 5052, 5083, and 5454
• Commonly used for welding aluminum cast and dissimilar metals
• Conforms to: AWS A5.10, CWB
• Harder but more brittle than 4043
