Safety never felt so comfortable

The core element of the optrel swiss air blower respiratory protection system is a ventilated half mask that completely covers the mouth and nose area and supplies them with purified air.

A breathing space is created in the mouth and nose area which, thanks to positive pressure, supports the user in breathing and eliminates tiring breathing resistance. The half-mask, made of high-tech fabric, is designed in such a way that it can be excellently adapted to the individual thanks to a freely adjustable headband. This concept eliminates the need for time-consuming fit tests that are common with conventional half masks.

The clean air comes via a Y-hose from a miniaturised blower system, which is comfortably carried by a carrying unit on the back. In this way, the user is permanently in a "positive pressure air system", which permanently protects his respiratory tract against contaminated air.

Because every millimeter counts

It won't let you down when things get tight. With a thickness of only 48 mm and ergonomically adapted to the back, you can get through even the smallest openings.

Health

  • Permanent protection of the respiratory tract and lungs against pollutants in the air, regardless of the current activity in the working day. This prevents the development of respiratory and lung diseases.

Ergonomics

  • Reduction of pain in the neck and back due to a significant reduction in the weight of head, face and eye protection systems. Heavy combination helmets are no longer necessary.

Performance

  • Increase the performance of users thanks to positive pressure system, which supports breathing and does not cause any breathing resistance.

Cost savings

  • Lowering investment costs due to the elimination of costly fitting tests (no fit test).
  • Reduction of running costs due to massive saving of paper masks as well as their disposal.

Security of supply

  • Thanks to a reusable half-mask system, supply is guaranteed at all times, even in the event of a shortage in times of crisis

Independence

  • swiss air can be used completely self-sufficient, which allows maximum versatility in combination with the appropriate manufacturer-independent occupational health and safety.

Universal applications

  • swiss air is as versatile in application as the tasks in industry, trade, construction, medicine or agriculture.

Sustainability

  • By planting a tree for each swiss air system sold, optrel compensates more than just the climate footprint of the respective system.

Replacement Components for Swiss Air Respirator

Special Note on Fitting in Response to Customer Feedback:

The seal on the face mask of the swiss air is intended to be modified to offer a better fit. Out of the box, there is a lot of foam, and it fits perfectly on small heads and small noses. There are lines of perforations in the nose area that allow you to remove some of the foam in a neat consistent line. These portions of foam are meant to be removed until the face seal feels just right, and makes a nice seal.

Not NIOSH Approved

I have tried to get information from the company requesting documentation for NIOSH approval as that is an OSHA requirement. They will not supply the information and we had to pull their respirators off the floor.

Product constantly needs repairs, but optrel has been good with their warrenty so far.
Other than that, it's the best PAPR system u can get for welding

Optrel Swiss air PAPR

Decent product but fan will randomly shut of for a couple seconds. Leads me to think it is a manufacturing problem. I had same issue with adflo pump before it stopped working but overall adflo has better air supply. Possible it is just my unit that is malfunctioning or they all might do it. Also lenses do fog up same if not more than without swiss air.

Hey buddy,

Thanks for the business as always. When a PAPR unit is having inconsistent power, in most situations you just need to change the filter. This being said, if you have changed the filter and the problem persists, then it's most likely a warranty issue which we are more than happy to help you with. Optrel is great about honoring their warranty, but if you need some reinforcements we will go to bat for you and make sure you get the issue sorted out.

As for the lens fogging, it is most likely that you need to adjust the fit of the foam nose seal portion of the face mask. If you take a look, there are perforated lines that allow you to remove foam until you get a good fit. With a tight fitting seal around the nose, the fogging issue should resolve itself.

If there's anything we can do to help, don't hesitate to get in contact with sales@weld-ready.ca!

Disappointed

Air flow cuts out periodically not entirely sure why and never seems like quite enough even though I have it cranked. Also I've yet to go longer then a few minutes without my safety glasses fogging up immensely. I've tried several glasses and methods to wear them but so far I haven't been successful. I've also noticed despite all these other issues I can still smell the grinding dust while im grinding. I was hoping this was going to be a game changer because of its light weight, close fitting design and easy on off controls but if it can't be used with safety glasses and I can still smell the harmful dust/fumes what's the point.

We were able to get in touch with Evan and help him get better results from his swiss air. The main issue was due to fit of the face seal. The resolution is below:

The seal on the face mask of the swiss air is intended to be modified to offer a better fit. Out of the box, there is a lot of foam, and it fits perfectly on small heads and small noses. There are lines of perforations in the nose area that allow you to remove some of the foam in a neat consistent line.
