Solar Flux Type B is a specialized compound specifically designed to apply to the back of a TIG weld on stainless steel or high nickel alloys to achieve similar results to a purge without the time and expenses. The use of solar flux prevents re-oxidation and heat scale, reducing warpage especially on thin materials. To use, simply mix the powder with methanol or methyl alcohol until the product has a toothpaste like consistency, and then apply to the back of the joint before welding.
